people get all nostalgic about the pre-64's.......trust me, Winchester made a lot of pre-64's that were lemons.....they're over-hyped

@TopOfTheLine3 ..for awhile winchester used pot metal alloy for the trigger guards and they would often break just like mine. I am still looking to replace it. Not high on my list to do but will get done someday.

@leebeaux3 .. yeah I bet I do sound reduntdant. heh better to have the info out ther ethan not though i guess. didnt have notecards or anything and just said all this crap off the top of my head. i still have this rifle and I love it so much.

@macdaddysal ...recoil is very manangable. heavy but doable. magnum 12 gauge hurts more. 30-06 is like being pushed back, not kicked.
