Asking if a banned player should be in the hall of fame is a stupid question and I can't blame Johnny for his answer.

He wasn't overly ticked off, just annoyed. I think he even felt bad afterwards about that reaction because prior to that being asked Johnny was quite amiable with this reporter.

Johnny Bench may have been an ass-hole off the field-but on the field he was the greatest catcher that i have ever watched play in Major League Baseball-he had an amazing arm when it came to throwing out base runners -He was the best

I am a little surprised that Johnny went off on a young interviewer like that!... Wow, all he had to say was Pete was a great player but he made some mistakes or something like that!...I think, for sure, that Bench deep down does not like Rose, they are entirely different people.. Just my hunch.. Pete was very flamboyant and Bench was much more conservative and reserved and I don't think they mixed very well..

yeah, but they've heard about Pete Rose more than Johnny Bench for all the wrong reasons. You're comment is the equivalent of saying a woman who dislikes Monica Lewinsky is just jealous of her cause everyone knows about Monica since she gave the President head while the lady who dislikes her is nobody. It's nothing to be proud of!! Implying Johnny Bench is jealous of Pete cause the youth of America don't know about him is an absurd comment.
