In this newest review, we take a look at and skate on a deck from Open Skateboards out of New York:

Some Austyn Gillette 52mm pro model wheels (Austyn's Almonds) from SML Wheels:

...and some customizable graphic griptape from Art on Grip:

This is off topic, but lemme get this out of the way first... I'm not a You Tube partner, nor do I plan on being one with this channel even though I've been offered several times. There are a couple of reasons for that.
1. I often use music that I didn't make. I don't think it's stealing since I'm giving airplay to songs and bands that I think are awesome, and hopefully people hear them and purchase those songs like I did. Not to mention, I don't make money from this nor do I want to. Not to mention, I don't want to see a BP ad under anything I've created. Living in the Gulf South, you probably feel me on that. Ads suck, anyway.
2. I would hate it if this channel became a job. This is done for fun. Maybe on another channel, but not this one.

Having said that, YouTube has randomly allowed me to upload videos longer than 15 minutes (I didn't realize until I started uploading it) but I have absolutely no clue why. Hopefully it stays like that, because as a lot of you know I like to go a little "long form" in my reviews... I'm a geek, so I feel obligated to spend time obsessing over every little thing, and I'll be hyped if I can continue to upload entire reviews and commentary into one video instead of splitting them up like I've previously done! Ok, back to skateboard stuff:

In this video we take a good look at all of the components, and I give a really simplified explanation of the two main ways graphics are put on boards, as well as some of the digital file types involved in the process.

After that, we take everything for a spin. Then, I ramble even more.

I'm personally pretty hyped on the way this review turned out... go busted by a pretty cool cop, got ran off of some private property, and got to get some footage of the deck in a park and street atmosphere... without getting injured (knock on wood).

The additional components (mentioned in the video) are Thunder Hollow Lights (I've been riding them for a while now, I really dig 'em), as well as some Powell Swiss 6 bearings. I'd never had 6 balls before, so far so good!

As always, I can't thank you enough for wasting your time watching me waste my time... but it's skateboarding, and I feel really lucky to get to talk to as many of you about skating as I can. No matter where we are on the globe, we're skaters and it hypes me up to be friends with so many of you. Thanks for that.

Last thing, thanks to Flat Fitty for the headgear and some of the shirts I had on... in the next video I'll give you cats a closer look at it and explain what some of the symbolism on it means.

After that: Zero's p2 technology!

Skate if you can, and if you can't just stay hungry 'til you can!!! w00t!

Peace!
-Neal

    You have options.

A- scroll to the part where the skating starts (the nerve of me to do a REVIEW, amirite??!?!11).

B- Don't watch my shit. If you see a video pop up on the YT sidebar that says it's from "grimcity," don't watch it.

My channel tends to cater to skate geeks, gear heads, and non-assholes. I insist that you make it a goal to avoid my chan so you won't be so butthurt.

  • When you where skating back at the tennis court your outfit and the way you where skating reminded me of Rodney Mullens Rubbish Heap part.

    Concise, succinct, straight outta truth!

Please do a soft wheels review for secondary or 3rd set ups. The best I've used so far are OJ III Keyframes. Really smooth but can slide to a stop is necessary (bad drivers or crazy dogs). Test all the ones in "normal" shapes (not longboard wides).

  • Not every one from the south talks the same, but a Yankee like your self wouldn't know

  • @grimcity oh i thought ur from oregon,lol

  • @narutorandomness457

No offense at all man... it was taped just a few blocks from my house (I'm from south Louisiana, born in Mississippi). I grew up in the country myself... I do get a little southern accent if I'm tired or tipsy, but my mom's from NYC so I think I picked up some of the way she talks over my lifetime. I'm dirty south 100%!

  • @grimcity were u somewere away form your home state? cause u dont have a redneck voice and he did. not trying to ofend anyone , just asking

  • @narutorandomness457

Yep, spot on my man... from groms to old farts like me, we all look the same to the uninformed!

  • @grimcity lol that guy probobly told someone eles not to skate there and said that to you cause he thinks all skaters are "little skater punks" and thinks were all one person. haha

  • @narutorandomness457

Ah, my mistake man... he said "Haven't I told ya'll not to skate here... (etc)" so I responded by saying "I've never spoken to you in my life, sir."

  • @grimcity i didnt undersatnd what u said to him DURING the video
