Im always one to dig up an old gag from Milton Berles Private Joke File, so as you can no doubt imagine, Im quite familiar with the taste of Knuckle. It tastes better than being ignored. But then again, most objects taste better than abstract concepts anyway.

I like how Brian fully accepts the punch while he's finishing his joke.

This video is great on so many levels. The slow-motion to ensure that the sheer horribleness of the joke soaks into your every pore. The look of pure, molten rage as ten thousand years of bad puns gets focused into one glorious punch. The smile during delivery, as if Brian's pun is the vessel through which sheer madness is delivered. And that he sees the punch coming before he's even halfway done with the line, but has decided it is worth it and soldiers on.

    So great.

The reaction time of the punch is what makes this one of my favorite.

Not two words into the joke and he's already priming up a punch, in blinding rage fashion.

But my point is that if "your hair" is singular, he'd have to respond "which one?" It's ambiguous. "A hair cut" is definitely singular, but the ambiguity is that it could be "a haircut." With "A" the joke is more clear, to me anyway.

Your doesn't necessitate plural, much like hair doesn't necessitate singular or plural. The irony of the joke is that "your hair" could mean a single hair OR it could be the typical entirety of the growth on one's head. I can't believe that this needs to be broken down, particularly in the case where someone is trying to appear clever by pointing out a (fabricated) flaw in a video that's shorter than the average belch.

How on Earth does it not? When "A hair cut" could be "a [single] hair cut." You'd have to say "one of your hairs" for it to make sense with "your."

Because "your hair" doesn't imply that it has to be more than one. Fail.

Mike should have said "Did you get A haircut" in order for the pun to make sense. Perhaps that was intentional though.
