Dota 2 Update

News and information regarding Valve's upcoming title: Dota 2 for the week of June 13th, 2011. (Note: Any comments similar to "THIS IS HON NOT DOTA2" will be deleted. I know that, and our audience does as well. I use HoN because it has better graphics than DotA, and HoN is likely to be very similar to Dota 2 because it is a DotA clone with the blessings of Icefrog. I am not trying to mislead, nor am I misinformed.)

We've all heard the LoL vs HoN vs DoTA bullshit, any comments similar to and I quote: "dota 2 is so motherfucking gay ..... @dota2cast You say that the success of Riot is due to their community and their marketing strategy, however the community can't be built on just marketing. LoL is balanced and fun to play, 15 mill subs agree.

HoN and DotA communities are just horrible, terrible people who play games just so they can rip at each other with no intention of winning, some of them even concede just so their rate goes down and they can play with noobs then rip on them, not to mention the wildly imbalanced characters.

Let me say this. All the games are worth playing. Demigod and LoL are a fresh new game based of DoTA, I still play LoL regularly. I played Demigod for a while (wasn't my game) and I REALLY liked it, I don't know how it died (or atleast I think it did, I would love to play it if I know that there are still lots of people playing it). HoN is like DoTA so if you wanted to experience something very similar to DoTA, HoN is your thing, (untill DoTA 2 comes out atleast imo)

I play LoL right now mainly cuz i completely suck at DotA...

i still remember the last time i played DotA on my cousins account i fed the other team 12 kills.

LoL is kinda like an easier version of DotA so even though i don't play DotA i'd say it's better than LoL (you also don't have spend hrs playing to play a certain hero)

DotA has been my transition game to DotA 2 for the last 7-8 years? I tried LoL, I tried HoN and demigod, i didnt like any of them, looking at the leak of DotA 2 i can clearly see they kept the map layout like it should be, i also recognise some heroes and how they are played, so i guess il be playing the next one.

I play LoL right now, but will change to Dota 2 when its released. I didnt had the chance to play Dota Allstars, but warcraft 2, and I somehow know some heroes and im really happy to try this. Im sure this is going to be a great game, because its from Valve.

@Squan007 It's interesting you say that when the vast number of LoL players like to boast how seriously competitive the game is. In fact, its the only counter argument to legit concerns such as balance and the effect money transactions. "IT MUUUUUUST BE BALANCED!!!!!11 LOOOK HOW COMPETITIVE IT IS"

LoL is not a gateway to Dota 2. The majoriy of LoL's player base are teenagers who believe what they like must be the best, therefore will not bother trying new stuff and even attack competitors due to their insecurities. The fact that to be 'involved' in the LoL community means forking out money only exacerbates their blinded devotion.

@dota2cast lawl im pretty sure u will block me, BUT ur too optimistic bout dota 2. i mean yeah, i played dota hon and lol (first dota of course), i must say at first i was with the same opinion that dota 2 will crush Hon and LoL. but now, when i see the leaked screenshots and released tournament videos for dota 2, i must say: LoL and HoN have nothing to fear. dota 2 is kinda a stepback from the genius original game. valve should have done much better to join the whole MOBA community. meh
