It's been officially stated that it's a prequel in the extra file for Sora in AoS

I hate the new cell-shaded graphics in this game. I prefered the 3d look on the robots in Suguri, and that game's music better. And I didn't get the long tutorial.... (well it is in Japanese) And I like being able to switch between weapons you know?! I was sort of disappointed you know?

I rather like the style of graphics in this, especially the particle effects (though the missles kinda bug me since they're so fat). As for the music, I can't really say much since I like both game's music. But of course, it's all down to personal opinion.

There is a weapons option in the main menu that's greyed out since this is a trial after all.
