I have been using commercial air compressors, but, inspired by snowguns.com, I decided to build my own. Here are the results. 5HP, 18CFM, 21Amps@240V

  • Why in hell can't people talk? Cat got your tongue?

  • @fishnriver Uh? What are you talking about?

  • Just wondering if this is possible with just a pressure washer and a compresser.

  • yes

  • Did you build this tourself?I'm trying to build this exact same setup.Your pump looks exactly like mine..Is it true that a anything running off 20 amps or less does'nt need a magnetic starter?

  • I did build this myself - and I have done some considerable upgrades since I posted this. Will post a new vid once completed.

I dont know where the cutoff is for a magnetic starter. My 2HP - 19amp 110 water pump is on a regular switch - but then again it also has a manual reset for overload protection (and my 5hp motor does not) The motor starter provides both the contactor and the overload protection (mine has a user selectable cutoff between 20-25amps. Good luck

  • what makes a compressor /pressure pump continuous duty? is it just the motor?

  • Newsnowpro Here, I love the fact that you do a complete walk around, Thanks

  • I think that this is very interesting. My aunt was asking about an Air Compressor that makes snow.

  • 280 motor, 200 pump, 90 reg/fittings, 100 cart, 60 baseboard, 50 motor starter, 20 motor mount, 50 power cord, 40 steel - so about 900 all in
