To date I've been working with Bruce and John over at Griggs (I've got the complete [non-SLA] GR-40 WC suspension), and I will likely need some help with the engine work... just need to get the funds lined up. It always comes down to the money, doesn't it! ;-)
2500 is a good goal, and sounds doable too... it's an early fox (1984 chassis) at 2800 right now, with iron heads, and all steel body. And, only 300 HP/Torque to the wheels; so, lots of opportunity to improve power/weight, with even more room left to improve the driver!
Nice! Sounds like some major fun! If it take off/works out, maybe I'll look at it as I continue building my old Fox Mustang for road-racing. If I did the quick math correctly, the bogey for me would be around 470 HP (normally aspirated); for a ~2800 lb car... do you know if that doable with a 5.0L?
No tube frame cars, 6:1 lbs/hp, production based v8 cars of any make, 18x12' Slicks, no forced induction, Improved touring safety regs. That's about it, The rest is unlimited.
@darrellmanderson, Cool, look forward to the front view! And, the American V8 Supercar Series sounds interesting... what's the format/rules going to be like?
@aruddfan The video camera had a mind of it's own that day. I will upload the front view of the same race. Wait until we get the American V8 Supercar Series up and running. Demo race is on Sept. 25-26 @ Thunderhill with SCCA.
I love the "woo hoo" at around 3:30 (presumably for Andy's slide through turn 7)... that was the same thing I was saying while watching it from above turn 2, what a blast! American Iron racing is the best thing going! Where's the rest of the race video; would like to see it too.
@darrellmanderson
Thanks Darrell! I will keep your number handy.

@aruddfan You should be able to lighten up that fox body to around 2500lbs. that would mean you could run up to 416rwhp. Yes that is doable.
