  • You should use a background song "WE GOT TO GET OUT OF THIS PLACE. IF IT'S THE LAST THING WE EVER DO" It played day and night from 1970 to 1972 .

  • @CharlesStanleySucks You weren't their were you ? Your talking about an 80's song . We , who were lucky enough to make it out alive were all gone by 1975 . PS "Phu Bai might have been alright but it was very , very far from Heaven"

  • I was with "C" Co. 101st Avn Bn 101st Abn Div in Phu Bia from March 70 to April 71

  • @carinawfc3ir sorry to hear of that. To make it out of that hell and pass at home...

  • My father was in Phu Bai in 67-68, serving as a Corpsman with the Marine Corps. I recall shoe boxes full of photos. images of medi-vac helicopters bring in wounded Marines, etc, etc. Great footage and in color!..Thanks for posting!

  • My brother was at Phu Bai with the HMM-364th Purple Foxes Marine Squadron 1967-1968. I was Air Force at the time. He flew the CH47 Chinook helicopters. He made it back to the states and was killed in a training crash out of Pensacola Naval Air Station with a student.

  • Landed in Bien Hoa in March 69. We were greeted by a tarp and water tank in over 100 degree weather and I was scared as hell. Left for An Khe and other fire bases two days later. My first day in An Khe we were hit by a sapper unit. Some of the guys I came in country with didn't make it. When I returned to Bien Hoa a year later it seemed huge. Still a 122mm rocket almost got me before I was able to leave. We departed from a new, air conditioned terminal.

  • We Got to Get Out of This Place was recorded in 1965 by Eric Burdon and the Animals

  • @hutchfromba More like they should use "Feels like Heaven" by Fiction Factory
