A demonstration of the Havoc Stinger Infrared controlled helecopter. I bought this one at target for thirty dollars, but I think you can find them for 25 if you shop around.

The remote controller doubles as a charger. It takes approximately 20 minutes to charge and you get approximately 7-8 good minutes of flying time.

I painted this helicopter black to make it look more like a wasp, it moves similarly to a wasp too. The eyes glow and blink which makes it easier to find if it crashes and ends up behind or under some furniture... also it makes easy to fly in a darker room.

It took me about 4 sessions to get a feel for the controls... it would probably be much easier to practice in a gymnasium or something where there is nothing to crash into.

Anyway... its a lot of fun for thirty dollars.!

I saw on the website that they make this and similar models with infrared lasers and triggers on the remotes so that two people can play laser tag against each others helicopters... that sounds cool, but I don't know how great that could be with only 6 minutes to play... it might be more fun to just try to knock each other out of the air with two basic models.
