@rulebritannia1 Fair enough, but Mozart was really frowned upon for writing in German, because it was unheard of at the time. Italian was very much the language of opera. The french hated this and would litterally run Italian singers out of town! haha I do feel that a peice doesn't have to be written by a composer who is Italian to be italian though. Just think of the French Overture. Very popular throughout the West.
@hardimentjake wanting music in your own language is not xenophobic its sensible, mozart was frowned apon for writing in german and not itlaian fetter it to your listeners i only watch the magic flute when its in english. eitherway handel was a brit no matter what his passion might have been having a german king as patron helps lol
@rulebritannia1 but he was absoluteley fascinated with italian opera. After moving to England he desperately tried to make a career out of this obsesion, despite the fact that the xenephobic English refused to try and understand the language. Handel eventually switched to writing in English with the greatly misjudged Judas Maccabaeus which has become one of his most popular works.

you are cute, but you need to study a bit longer to be able to sing this... it seems easy, but, you see, it is NOT. :-)
