What I've learned about Sagat is that you have to stick with low or frontal attacks. Like the tripping and high kicks you were giving. If you jump at him, you get an uppercut. Stand too far from him or throw hadoukens, he just tigers the shit out of you. I hated fighting Sagat the most in SFII. M. Bison was easier. But in the Alpha series, Bison is insane.
