If you like this song, please also hear Thomas Hampson's recording. Hampson just sang the world premiere of a cycle of 5 songs in February 2011, inspired by Liszt's Petrarch Sonnets. The American Liszt Society, honoring the Liszt Bicentennial, commissioned William Bolcom to write a cycle using texts of 5 Petrarch Sonnets. The result, "Laura Sonnets," was superbly premiered by Mr. Hampson and pianist Craig Rutenberg at the 2011 ALS Festival at the University of Georgia, Athens.

So so beautiful! Leontyne Price, what a star! She will forever shine in history of opera.
She is perfection in every way....... I know of no other singer who can touch her control and mastery, technique and talent! Live long Leontyne!

beautiful indeed
I was there and it was a stunning recital, farewell to Austria. Many encores, including an unforgettable 'Un bel di' from Madama Butterfly. All the French repertoire excerpts sung that evening showed what maestria and total voice/breath control Ms Price has retained throughout her glorious career. The most gorgeous and luscious female voice of the XXth century, no less! Thanks Onegin65: I love you.
