Cst Scott Mills, Toronto Crime Stoppers Community Youth Officer/Toronto Police Service Legal Graffiti Coordinator attended the Rotary Club of Toronot West breakfast as a speaker on Crime Stoppers and Youth Engagement Thursday June 11, 2009.

Lorne Simon, Chair of Toronto Crime Stoppers attended to speak on behalf of the community Toronto Crime Stoppers board. Allan Crawford from the city of Toronto Parks Forestry and Recreation Department attended to represent the ongoing partnership with Crime Stoppers relating to TorontoBMX.

Jason Tojeiro and Adam Dudzinski, local youth leaders from the Toronto BMX community attended the breakfast to speak on bahalf of TorontoBMX and youth.

The Toronto Crime Stoppers T-Shirt Re-Design Contest was spoken about.. including the ongoing partnerhisp with Communities Advancing Valued Environments for this youth engagement project. Youth aged 8-18 can enter a photo of their art work .. including graffiti art on the website http://CommunityCAVE.com and be eligible to win $500. The contest for 2009 closes for entries on September 15, 2009. The winners will be announced and honoured at Humber College Lakeshore Campus at a community building conference in October, 2009.

The winning designs go on shirts that are distributed to youth throughout the city of Toronto during the Crime Stoppers presentations at schools and community events. The theme of the art work is 'What Does Your community Mean to You?"

The purpose of challenging our youth through Crime Stoppers programs is to PREVENT violence, and create a atmosphere of trust between youth, their adult mentors in the community, and the police.

There are three ways to submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers in Toronto to assist police to help PREVENT or solve a crime.
