Wampler Pinnacle 2 Distortion

This pedal has 4 knobs -- two separate tone controls that act as a sort of parametric EQ, gain and volume. It also has a 'bright' switch that adds a ton of variety and is very handy when playing a dark sounding amp, as well as another toggle switch that will give you high gain Brown Sound tones. @stratthead Try The Visa Distortion NxGeneration video by koliok on Youtube ($99 to $149 on ebay..I just ordered one from Thailand). Also check out Suhr RIOT and Metal Pedal's Bomb Shell and XXX out of New Jersey. Great stuff with good noise reduction. I had the Wampler Super Plextortion and I noticed a lot of fizz with my amp so I sold it. It would be good for rythm but leads, nah. It made me hesitant about getting the Ecstasy.

Sounds flubby and messy, almost like a fuzz in some ways. I've been looking for a tight, crisp rock pedal but can't find it. All pedals seem to have this flubby thing. I guess amp gain stll rules over these boutique pedals.

sounds like fuck for rythym stuff, lead is good but it lacks the very high gain and low bass and mids that makes eddie's sound for riffs like You Really Got Me
