This song is so beautiful, Patrick has such an amazing voice.
It is my greatest hope that this brilliant band will come back together and make music again. They have been sorely missed.

I sung this at my schools talent show- first place, now i have lead male role in chorus and theatre.

This song... I don't know how to describe what this does to me. But somewhere inside me, it pulls me. I don't know where, why, or how. But this song is working in me.

@MichaelEllisViola oh and (this is just my opinion though) - parents don't do it out of pure altruism either. they just want their children to succeed at life. because they want to be able to brag about them or at least not be ashamed of them. and in our society, success is all about the superficial. he who has the most money and the prettiest girlfriend is considered a winner. not the one trying to lead an honorable life.

@MichaelEllisViola the way you describe it sounds a lot like it's about gay people after all. but i think the part about parents raising their babies is not about gays but about the golden rule. they don't want their kids to stick around people who adhere to the golden rule. because such idealists give much and get little in return. because the truth is (the lights that are too heavy for him, the lovers with no time) that you're fucked if you live by the golden rule.

@Manicisthehobo what is "karrots" supposed to be, man? think... gold! and even in the lyrics of the video, it says "karats". but it's actually spelled "carats". he is talking about how people are treating him bad, even though it should be obvious that he just tries to be nice to everybody - carrying carats for everyone to see.

Let's ask Wes Eisold what it's about, shall we?
