In Kyrgyzstan, HIV mainly effects young people aged twenty and over. Three in four infections relate to injecting drugs at the moment and there is little information on safe sex available.

To help reduce the risks of HIV spreading further, the Red Crescent is training young people to teach sexual health, drug and HIV awareness to others their own age in the streets and in schools.
