Our Obsession with Celebrity Culture is Killing us

Big Brother isn't watching us. Big Brother is singing dancing and entertaining us so we don't notice what its doing.
Celebrity means someone who is celebrated. A celebrity used to have to do something to be celebrated, not just be hot and watchable. George Orwell worried that books would be banned, Aldus Huxley worried that people would just stop wanting to read them.
The creationism area has really been beaten to death, its hard to care anymore.

@skeptiksnarf If you don't want to I understand but its so long that I don't want it to go waste in my iPhone notepad and having someone with familiar opinions to talk about this to would be great!

@skeptiksnarf Hey do you have an email I can contact you by? I had a comment I was gonna post to this video but next thing I know I have a comment thousands of characters over the limit and I didn't want to spend the time sending it as indecipherable chunks; long story short I had a short critique and LONG agreement; I just have very few people to talk to this about (as you'll read in the message!) so I was wondering if you could read it and kind of bounce ideas with me. If you don't want to I

Thank you SO much for posting this. You said it all, man.

Thank you, what you said is very true. I hope American people wake up soon to the path of darkness they're heading into. Keep up the good fight. Death to the New World Order and the wickedness that it has slowly been putting into our culture!

When you have shows like Jersey Shore...It shows you that they are symptoms...Symptoms of a bigger problem...that eventually the dumb will out breed all of us. I see more people who are interested in what's going to happen in the next episode of their favorite b.s. t.v. show instead of politics, good health, lectures...BOOKS...we are going to crash one day..and we can thank snookie for being the fucking leader.

I like mainstream culture, but I'm very independent-minded. I popular watch tv shows & news, but I neither like nor dislike celebrities. I watch both mainstream & alternative media not relying on a single source. I listen to the radio & sometimes even enjoy a popular song or a popular talk show host. I usually shop at small local stores, but not out of any grand principle & I don't feel guilty when I go to Walmart. I don't mind advertising & yet rarely buy according to it.
I have an idea for a government.
You only allow the retards to vote. on things. then when you come out with a clear majority of what the retards (re: fundamentalists) want, DO THE OPPOSITE.

@SkeptikSnarf Let the collapse of the U.S. Happen. Then Build a better government based on placing the Rational, Ethical and Intelligent in charge. I would prefer a Technocratic Society versus our current society any day.

@NoogLeader sadly i dont think that will happen even if (when) the US collapses. cause the xenophobic, violent, reactionary gun-toting jesus loving fanatic tea-party pawns will be the first ones to clammer for power. societies are usually never built in trying times by cool rational heads. i guess im to much of a pessimist
