Is it permissible in Canada for anyione at all, man or woman, to enter a public building wearing a ski-mask or a hockey-goalie mask ... or a Ronald Reagan mask. Anything that conceals identity? I don't think so.
I believe that in UK at least, motorcycle delivery guys MUST remove their helmets before entering. Why should religion have special privileges?

In recent years, Saudi Arabia has faced many terrorist issues. Yet (as far as I know) no move to ban the burka in that country. Why you might ask?
Perhaps because they employ more female security staff to check the burka wearers. Therefore more earned income for women and no major burka security problem for the Saudis.

A question and a comment. Question: If a bank were to use iris recognition technology to identify patrons should patrons still have to show their entire faces?
Comment: As far as safety goes, I have a winter coat under which I could hide all the appliances in my kitchen. I could easily wear a bomb under it. I don't think anyone considers my wearing that coat a safety matter when I go into a public place like a bank.

Well, your winter jacket doesn't hide your face, right? And if for example the police asked to search you, you'd have no problem unzipping your jacket etc. right?
They obviously won't remove their burka for any reason. I guess the iris technology would be a good alternative, HOWEVER it will take quite some time before that becomes cost-effective. It's just too expensive to employ for a small portion of the population.
