For years I've been intrigued by the 1564 progression (e.g. C,G,Am,F). It has no perfect cadence: Only an imperfect cadence, an interrupted cadence, a minor to subdominant drop and finally a plagal cadence... it's all questions and no sure answers. Perfect for heartfelt songs that delve into the human condition. Starting on another part of the progression changes the vibe a little, but still begs to be taken seriously. Most songwriters use it at some point, so I though I should too and the resulting song, "Drop" ain't half bad, I reckon: http://malwebb.com/drop
The below 68 songs use the progression either for most of the song or at least the critical part. Several are Australian, as we went 1564 nuts for a while here. It's all live, using an AKAI Headrush pedal to loop it up. And yes, I'm humming whilst beatboxing... hours of fun! Sing along, love, Mal
No Woman No Cry (Bob Marley), Let It Be (Beatles), With or Without You (U2), So Lonely (Police), Africa (Toto), Butterfly Ball (Ronny James Dio), Beast of Burden (Bette Midler), Reckless (Reyne), Sexual Healing (Marvin Gaye), Down Under (Men at Work), Scar (Missy Higgins), You were Amazing (Alex Lloyd), Forever Young (Alphaville/Youth Group), Captain (Kasey Chambers), Pretty Enough (Kasey Chambers), You and Your Hand (Pink), Everything (The Veronicas), Torn (Natalie Imbruglia), Gotta Be Somebody (Nickelback), Girlfriend (Avril Lavigne), Under The Bridge (Red Hot Chilli Peppers), Too Late to Apologise (One Republic), No Happy Ending (Mika), Stop and Stare (One Republic), Save Tonight (Eagle Eye Cherry), 20 Good Reasons (Thirsty Merc), Push (Match Box 20), How Far We've Come (Match Box 20), According to You (Orianthi), No One (Alicia Keyes), I'm Yours (Jason Mraz), Sun Will Set (Linkin Park), She Will Be Loved (Maroon 5), Can you Feel the Love Tonight? p.s. of course, other people have had the same idea (great minds, convergent evolution, etc etc), but it's not going to stop me, just because they're more famous than I am! My favourite is Rob Paravonian's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdxkVQy7QLM ... damn funny. Pachabel's Canon is 15634145, but the way. And Axis of Awesome's is cool, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMshvUReunc and they've thankfully stopped including "Man in the Mirror", which is 1345.
p.p.s. there will be more for sure... my constantly updated list is at:
http://malwebb.com/1564 .
p.p.p.s. I've also done a vertical medley of all the songs from Grease that have the 1625 progression (i.e. most of them) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OOJ4l9j0Hg

@igorseabra4 Thanks for that! Some of these are already in my latest medley (check it out on my website). But there're a few I didn't have. I've changed the song order since this video. It's 93 songs now and once I get to 100 I'll do a new video... and still do it in 2 minutes! There's a few of these songs you sent that are maybe not famous enough in my mind and a few aren't really 1564 (or 6415, etc): Irreplaceable is 1524(5) and Stereo Love is 6413. But thanks heaps!

@igorseabra4 Dude! You're a machine! I can't believe I missed Waka Waka. I'll shuffle these into a workable order (sheesh!) and post it as soon as I can get my face around it. Thanks again.
