Whinny For Me's Finely Dun, a/k/a "Trooper"

Trooper is a 2009 red dun miniature colt sired by Erica's Gone and DunIT, our AMHR National Top 10 Halter / AMHA Halter Honor Roll stallion. Trooper's dam had a very difficult time following his birth and required immediate, extensive vet attention. This prevented her from "meeting" Trooper until he was 4-5 hours old. This combined with her pain is why we think she rejected him. We were able to restrain her for him to nurse for several days before realizing she would not come around and accept him. He did get colostrum from her and also a plasma transfusion (not because his IgG wasn't sufficient). He's drinking well now from a bowl (24 hours into doing so) and is energetic and feisty.
