Lt. Williams does an emergncy change over to the Last Chance Rescue filter during a training exercise in the Triune-Halleck VFD's burn building. Lt. Williams also speaks about the change over process and how the filter works under live fire and smoke conditions.

  • This training was part of a Mayday course offered by the THVFD and involved changing over from supplied air to filtered air (using the Last Chance Rescue Filter). The filter worked great for the 12 minutes Lt. Williams was in the live fire area (temperatures ~ 650 F). This filter will provided up to 15 minutes of usable air and should only be used in an SCBA emergency. It is my belief that every SCBA in the county should be outfitted with a Last Chance Rescue Filter.
