I've been working at a Quad/Graphics out of NY for the past year and I have never thought to search up a vid on here..... Roll stands are a bit different where i work

When I was in my Apprenticeship I had a Pressman show me how to do just that. He never, ever got caught.

LOL the 26LBS paper you talikng about hahha

Well they're now bankrupt because of the huge debt they took on to make the merger work. Plus the fact that they had to sell the Snowflake plant to Catalyst didn't help any because it was their second most profitable plant.

i agree.. ever since abitibi and bowater merge together we have been receive horrible paper. the pile up on the blankets from that paper is a site to see no matter what etch we use.

Man you really have to be careful when you get close to the core like that. We've been gettin' some Catalyst paper that gets really crappy near the core. And btw if your purchasing manager ever says they're getting cheaper paper from Abitibibowater and it's recycled from the Snowflake plant tell him/her to shove it coz that stuff sucks.
Am I mistaken, or does this rollstand hold 3 rolls at once? I have worked on Meg Tecs, Butlers, and Martins, but have never seen a 3 roll rollstand.

You are correct, each reelstand holds three rolls of newsprint. With press runs of 100,000 to 300,000 copies we do not have time to stop and hand paste incoming rolls.

The best way to break a sheet without getting caught is to.... nevermind

You have me laughing on the floor. With the thinner newsprint, web breaks occur.
