  • Be sure to number the keys 1-88 by writing on them. Be careful with the action... you may have to push on the backchecks to raise the whippens to safely remove the keys and return them to their places. When you vacuum the keybed, be careful not to lose any felt or paper punchings. The best way to dust the action is to remove from the piano, take it outdoors, and used compressed air or the reverse end of your shop vacuum to blow the dust.

  • My upcoming videos on spoon bending and other tasks associated with action regulation will be posted during July and August.

  • A complete action regulation should be done every 5 to 10 years for a home piano. A piano used for concerts can be regulated every month or every week. A piano in daily use at a school or studio could be regulated every 2 to 4 years. The technician will likely make a number of adjustments to respond to individual regulation problems with every tuning.

  • Can u do a vid on fixing sticky keys cause when we bought a piano it had sticky keys and he blames me even thought I tried to tell him when we bought it.it look like some spilled coke on it cause u can see the stain inside cause we have a grand piano

  • I will put sticky keys on my list of projects. However, there are many possible causes. Last week I had to file the lead weights that had slipped out of position. Your tuner can pull the action and clean up the sticky stuff that was spilled. This is a common problem.

  • i like this video, thanks drrhoward, can you show how to repair for loose tuning pin upright piano? : )

  • @MrEtudes Yes, I will do a video soon on "loose tuning pin repair"

  • why do my piano seems different? o.o mine is yamaha upright and i cant find the screwdriver to tighten or to losen T.T

  • I don't want to file or anything complex but can I take the black and white keys out safely to clean them? I don't want to ruin our piano. We have an upright known as an "upright grand". It's heavy but I don't think I'll have to move it. I just want to do a thorough dust. Any tips?

  • Srsly... DO NOT do this without proffesional help. You will ruin your piano

  • is that a joke????

  • My friend and I are looking for a video on spoon bending techniques.

  • How many times do we have to do such a regulation in a year?
