sometimes it pays to check the flow of water over the el cap dam before you drive up to SDCE..... punch bowl is desert, there's not much for little critters to survive on... some of the tunnels for the cuyamaca water flume are still there.

i was there today, the waterfall is not flowing at all and it's pretty shallow
