Countertenor Timothy P. Faatz performs live at a benefit concert for Evangelion Chorale.

I. Stabat Mater "At the cross her station keeping, stood the mournful mother weeping, close to Jesus to the last."

II. Cuius animam "Through her soul, of joy bereaved, bowed with anguish, deeply grieved, now at length the sword hath passed."

III. O quam tristis "Oh how sad and sore distressed was Mother highly blessed, of the sole-begotten One!"

IV. Qui est homo "Is there one who would not weep, Whelm'd in miseries so deep Christ's dear Mother to behold?"

  • This man has the voice of an Archangel. What honour he does to the All-Holy Mother of God and Her Sorrows as She stood beneath the Holy and Lifegiving Cross of Her Divine Son.

  • You are to kind sir. I am just a vassal of our Father in Heaven, an instrument for him to play on.

    Thank you for your kindness.

  • Honourable Sir, I am most grateful for your kind response to my comments on your celestial rendition of Vivaldi's "Stabat Mater." I could not understand how anyone but a servant and instrument of the All-Holy Trinity could sing so exquisitely in honour of the Sorrows of Our Most Pure Lady. As a Russian Orthodox Christian, I shall ask my priest to commemorate you at all Divine Liturgies that he serves. May She Whom you so gloriously hymn cover you always with Her Protecting Veil.

  • It is I who must thank you for the joy and hope that you, through Our Father in Heaven, and as his instrument, have given to me, his vassal too, but without such angelic talents as you possess.

  • Came back to listen. Still think you did a lovely job!
