@TweaksterXXX He was actually introduced to BJJ by Big Jon McCarthy in the locker-room the day prior to the fight. Big Jon (Who was with the Gracie crew despite not being a referee at the time) knew Art was in over his head, so he invited him to a spar. After Art got taken with ease, he realized what he was up against and told his corner to protect him at all costs (His corner tried to throw in the tower immediately when he got taken down by Royce, but dropped it). So he ended up tapping.
