  • small STEP for MANKIND.

    GREAT step for hOLYWOOD !

  • @OrganCat Ok.. Then the inverse is a micro scope? How do you explain it?

Then the spyglass? That is a telescope and I can look across a range and foucus in clearly on a bee in a flower? So yout theory just hit the shit can didn;t it?

  • @OrganCat

I did indeed phrase it in a way no one ever thought of. All textbooks do is give the equation as is with no commentary with a diagram to explain the various variables.

However, for the poor helpless physics instructors entrusted to get this potentially bland material across to students, we need to think of what the textbooks never do. I needed to explain why microscopes and telescopes have different optical layouts, so thats what I came up with.

  • @SpreadingtheMuse "The laws of focal points says its impossible for any telescope to focus on anything smaller than it is."

I'm just asking for clarification on that sentence. I'd never heard it phrased that way, with only 2 factors-the relative sizes of 2 objects. Naturally distance is an important factor, as are focal length, aperture, lens or mirror composition , etc.

So I'm curious- how is the actual scientific principle stated in science books?

  • @OrganCat

It's mounted on the LEM. There was no need for anyone to "hold" it.

  • @OrganCat

What distance is the hummingbird? You have to plug all three variables into the focal point equation to find the exact size of "too small." There is a lower limit, as thats the whole reason microscopes have a different optical layout.

  • @SpreadingtheMuse I understand the resolution of the Hubble is insufficient to show fine lunar details, but.. "The laws of focal points says its impossible for any telescope to focus on anything smaller than it is."

How is it possible for my telescope with an 8" objective lens and a 2032 mm focal length to focus on a 3" hummingbird in the distance?

  • @OrganCat i was holding the camera at :27

  • what is this song called? i have found all the other "give love" version but i cant find this one. can anyone help me out?

  • what is the name of this song? i have searched for all the "give love" versions but this one i cant find. can anyone help me out?
