  • and a fucking idiot said that hearns did hit harder than ali head to head, lmao, bob foster was the hardest lhw puncher ever and his hitting power at hw was a joke, he got knocked out by ali and frazier very easy, foster did hit much harder than hearns, hell, head to head ali did hit much harder than hearns, does not matter if thommas hearns was a puncher and ali was not, because ali was a hw ,any average hw puncher hits harder than a top puncher ww/mw

  • @combatesdeboxeo yup, that right..not too mention how very very skillful bob foster was too...at light heavy he was phenomenal

  • Ali was a big dude he made Hearns look small

  • @ah93704 - Spinks was unfortunate, in that regard. No lightheavyweight king was ever going to put even a dent in a young Mike Tyson and Spinks had never been on the canvas in any other fight despite many world title fights.

However Marciano was only a cruiserweight so there is no guarantee that he has enough firepower to knock Spinks over and the match could genuinely go either way.

Favourite fighters? Joe Louis, Bob Foster and Thomas Hearns are my favourites for a number of reasons.

  • @BruceinFalkirk I think Marciaon would take Tunney and Spinks but I do think they'd give him hell with thier boxing ability. Spinks was underrated. Only really remembered for the Tyson debacle. Who's your favorite all time boxer in any era and in any weight?

  • @ah93704 - I can't see him doing any better than lightheavyweight kings Archie Moore and Ezzard Charles did against the Rock. Foster wasn't particularly good, even against cruiserweights.

Possibly Gene Tunney or Michael Spinks could beat Rocky though.

  • @BruceinFalkirk Very true. I'd have loved to seen Foster take on Marciano. Marciano was a smaller heavy and it would have been a great match. I think marciaon would have won. What do you think?

  • @ah93704 - I think you're right about Foster's power. He was the biggest puncher at that weight.

Lucky for Matthew Saad Muhammad that Foster wasn't around when he was fighting.

  • @BruceinFalkirk I think other fighters did hit him harder but I doubt anybody at Fosters weight hit Ali harder. I agree too that the cut was the result of the torque of the hand upon impact. Speed really accelerates that and if you can really turn your hand in a whip like motion it can really cut the guy up

  • @ah93704 - I think the key to Ali's cut was not Foster's power, as other fighters probably hit Ali harder, but Foster's whip-like punching technique.

Ali's own punches were not the hardest in his division as well but Henry Cooper noted that his way of flicking his hand, at the end of a jab, meant that his punches would cut you perhaps more than other, harder, punches.
