  • Even though the moves are choreographed for him here for the movie, he's quite good in this, and yes, his karate experience probably does help. Much better than in the "New Gladiators" clips, which show him massively drugged-up and showing the worst Kenpo karate form imaginable.

  • What an asshole.

  • @lokalllize Traditional Martial Arts

  • @RicardoKooh what does TMA mean

  • @TheDominionOfElites I am TMA for many years and also MMA, and not american citizen. Many TMA have been diluted and transformed into safe modern day commercial sports oriented activities (not even MA at all), mainly in the US because safety and legal issues. Best regards.

  • @TheDominionOfElites Hey, I am not saying that MMA aren't useful for real life scenarios. But you have already said that karate is "just faffing around. A totally useless Martial Art." To speak about absolutes is risky. Please, if you can find "Meditations on Violence" by Rory Miller, maybe you can change your mind...MMA technical aspects don't easily adapt to police or militar stressful real life challenges...

  • @RicardoKooh And it has helped me in plenty of situations. I'm sure you know what you are talking about however, so I won't pursue the topic any further.

  • @RicardoKooh Well hey, I'm going to do a first for the history of the internet: Admit I may have been out of line. I'm not american though, but like I said, I'm sure there are better variants of karate and of course, much more dedicated karataka, but I'm basing this mostly off of personal experience, people I know, and things I see and read. I do disagree in that MMA isn't too useful in real life scenarios, I mean, an MMA fight is a lot more like a street fight than a TMA one is.

  • @TheDominionOfElites I still believe TMA have many things to teach to MMA as a sport. And, try to do a kumite in full contact karate with a Kyokushin black belt... even though you may think because your muay thai experience and because they don't punch the face, you can have some advantage... let me tell you that these guys, kick hard as hell. Best regards.

  • @TheDominionOfElites Sorry... are you american guy? I mean, from the US? "Karate" as commercially sold is fun for kids. Also, WTF tkd. I guess you are very much influenced by MMA, and disregard many TMA techniques as useless. Well, let me tell you, that in real life scenarios, going to the ground as in BJJ and hitting hard (as in MT) to bigger guys, are not that safe or effective. MMA are not for defensive purposes, they do not address dangerous life threatening techniques as in many TMA.

  • @RicardoKooh Sorry, *done judo.

Also I didnt answer your question, sorry, I'm talking about general karate. I'm sure there may be good teachers or good variations, but I've never seen them.
