No they weren't Chachapoyas were completely wiped out by the Inca tribes and other Natives & diseases the Spaniards brought their exstinct. The Chachapoya actually sided with the Spaniards against the other Indians because they were described as lighter and fair haired they were not Europeans or AmerIndians they were probably related to the Ainu from the Pacific Rim or Tocharian stock of China they could have migrated to the Americas along the Pacific or through Berengia during the Ice Age.
My ancestors were the chachapoyans. I'm pretty sure they were not white but maybe a little lighter due to the elevation. It would explain why i'm light skinned myself.
