@reesaable yes but it was a small subspecies Caspian Tiger not Tiger Bengal Tiger Because the Roman never go to India to capture the Bengal Tiger and under the Siberian Tiger (Heaviest subspecies of tiger 330 kg max)

@mjswans listen u dont know shit..these videos in zoos mean nothing n thr r equal videos of tigers whipping lions on youtube...but i never use them as a reference point as i know wild animals fight differently..lion n tiger r d same cat underneath but the tiger is a bit heavier n therefore more powerfull..a lion on other hand has d mane which makes it look bigger thn he actually is..so they both have their advantages and i pick a tiger to win 6/10 times coz of its ability to balance on back legs

@sabertooth7777 Look at the video's. Lion breaks a tiger's neck. Lion body slams full grown male tiger,..lion chases a tiger...again lion chases a tiger...tiger runs up tree, or up on a roof, to get away from the lion.

@mjswans look u r in fantasy world.a few months ago a tiger mauled a lion to death in a turkish zoo.isolated incidents dont prove anything.only time wild tiger n lion fought was in rome arena as gladiators n thats a long time ago..its a scientific fact that a tiger is more powerfull n stronger and similarly its a scientific fact that a lions mane is an advantage.they both r kings in their own worlds n will fight to death to protect thier territory..i favor tiger coz i feel its a better fighter

The tiger is not king of the cats. An African lion one on one is more than a match for a tiger. The evidence is out there. Lions are by nature dominant. No question. In a local zoo years ago a lion had to be shot because it had a tiger in a fatal hold. A Siberian tiger. (Siberian tigers were more expensive). Watch the video's of lions breaking tiger's necks- body slamming them and general domionation. It's how they're built. Look it up. Stay in reality.

@mjswans equal in strength..r u out of your fuckin mind...a bengal or siberian tiger is much stronger and bigger than an african lion let alone a asian lion...but i beleive they will be equal in fighting abilities coz the mane makes the lion appear bigger and also protects it...but the mane will also overheat the lion and make him gas out much quickly than the tiger...a tiger is longer and when fighting on back legs will always be taller but i still belive any animal can win

It is rare for a tiger to beat an African lion. An Asian lion is more equal in strength.
