  • great song.

can remember watching this on top of the pops.

    one hit wonders.

    they never released another record.

the girls are from St Winifred's School Choir.

who had a hit in 1980 with theres no one quite like grandma.

  • @wayneypayney Prior to this single Brian & Michael recorded a few singles on Polydor under the name of Burke & Jerk. However, none of these reached the charts. The original 'Brian' left the duo shortly after the song was recorded. The 'Brian' on this video is actually Kevin Parrott (Michael is Michael Coleman).

  • you cant help wondering what those girls look like now, it would be a good place for them to make comparisons due to the exceptional quality of the video.

i will never grow tired of this song,, the 70s were indeed one of the best decades to have grown up in.

  • @yamahonduki As a point of interest, the girls shown here weren't the original kids who sang on the record. The original singers on the disc were the St. Winifred's School Choir, who went on to have the hit single with 'There's no one quite like Grandma'. Some outdated child labour law back in the 70's prevented the original kids appearing with Brian and Michael on their tv appearances.

I agree. The 70's was a cool decade to grow up in.

  • @TheRetroJukeBox that accounts for why they sound alike then. i never knew that. thanks for the heads up.

  • @yamahonduki No probs!
