Liberia: The Land America Forgot

Liberia was a colony that America founded in 1822. It has gone through two civil wars in the past twenty years. (We have only been through one civil war in 400 years, while Liberia has gone through two in the past 200.) The last civil war ended in 2003. Even though the last war is over there is still violence and the country is war torn. Liberia is currently one of the world's poorest country. With help form the U.N. and the United States Liberia could redeem itself as Africa's first Republic.
