  • In that last situation lets imagine I'm black and I have a pawn which after the black king is stuck I move.So now it's the white's turn. If they move their king to the side there's no chance the kings can 'touch' anymore...

I mean, the white queen isn't exactly directly attacking the king, but anywhere the king moves the queen can 'kill' him... I don't know if that's a tie or a checkmate...

  • @7Mushrooms7 I believe what you're referring to is stalemate. This is when one side has no legal moves but is not in check. Stalemate means the game ends in a tie.

  • I have a question I remembered now because of what you said about not being able to put the king in danger. So, we only win when the king can't escape (checkmate)? Or if the other player is too distracted and makes the huge mistake of putting his king in danger (check) and we don't say anything we can still take it and win? lol

I know this never happens, but I was just wondering if that's a valid win.

  • @7Mushrooms7 No, that's not a valid win. If this were to happen in a chess game, you MUST inform your opponent that he/she has made an illegal move and they must make a legal one instead. If you are playing with touch-move rules, however, they will have to move the same piece that they touched before if it has a legal move.

  • When you say you can never move into check what if your opponent makes a mistake and moves a piece not seeing his king can now be taken? Does that mean I win or does he get to put the piece back and make another move?? Cos that seems very unfair!!

  • @TheLastFraudster If your opponent accidentally moves into check or fails to notice that he is currently in check, then you must inform him that his last move is illegal and allow him to make another. If you are playing touch-move rules, however, he is compelled to move the same piece that he just touched if a legal move exists with it. Also, in timed games, opponents are penalized on the clock if they fail to notice a check, so it's not as unfair as it may initially seem.
