I have been a fan of Ralph Steadman for 36 years, so when an opportunity arose to meet him, I jumped on it. It was Halloween '06 at a book signing in Hollywood. I also met, Sal Viscuso of television fame. My favorite role he played was the priest on "Soap", although he has made many more appearances since then. He's a great guy and a good friend of Ralph's. Not only does Ralph draw my caricature, he has some very interesting comments on Hunter S. Thompson and George W. Bush. Enjoy the Master in action.

  • I agree that Ralph is one of the nicest, kindest, and most generous people I've had the pleasure to meet. I love to see how passionate and loyal his fans are. I am very fortunate to have many items signed by Ralph, including 2 First Edition, First Printing, Hardcover copies of "FEAR & LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS" (1971). Because I have 2 copies, I would be willing to sell one. If any of you would like to purchase one, email me at: j.fine@cox.net. Rock on, Ralph!

  • aww Ralph seems so sweet!

  • Ralph is one of my all-time heroes. I've interviewed him many times and he is as nice as he is talented. He gave me a print of Alice in Wonderland in a rowing boat and inscribed it with "For Carol, something to reflect upon."

I haven't seen him for a few years, but it's an honour to have known him.

  • Which book is that? And is there any books of just his artwork?

  • he seems like a really nice guy

  • does he use india ink?

  • LMAO!

Someone: "All the nice people are artists"

    Ralph: "OOh, Really?"

Hahahaha... sorry but, who every says that isn't quiet in the reality of it. One doesn't have to be nice to be an artist, but a successful one~ partly yes, the other half is sometimes con-artist ;)

Ralph has great style indeed ^ ^

Cool video, must have been a fun day.

    Glade ya posted this.

  • Thirty years ago we found his address and wrote to him asking for a drawing. We were in college at the U of M in Montana. He actually wrote us back and sent us a drawing. By far the nicest artist I know.
