Residents' Journal's live coverage of the protest outside of Mayor Richard M. Daley's office at City Hall on October 7, 2009, after his press conference with U. S. Attorney General Eric Holder and U. S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan regarding the ongoing youth and gang violence.

The meeting was sparked when the cellphone video of the beating death of 16-year-old Derrion Albert, a honor roll student at Fenger High School, caught national attention.

  • "community and parent involvement"? Why does the govt. (i.e. obama) have to be a part of "community and parent involvement"?

The drug dealers and gangbangers live in the community and the parents are protecting them.

Stop waiting for the govt. to stept in and lets solve our own damn problems.

Ignore the politicos and lets get our house in order because Obama cant save you.

Shame on these "leaders" who are simply looking to line their own pockets with federal money.
