Miloslav Gajdos plays his arrangement of Monti's Czardas for bass trio with Greg Sarchet of the Chciago Lyric Opera and Leonid Finkelsteyn. Live in Chicago 1996. This is the same arrangement played by Patkolo and Vengerov elsewhere on youtube.

  • You guys are pretty uptight to not see the playfulness and humor in the cadenza. He's kinda poking fun at you and your uptight pedagogical stances. Anyhow, those of you who are dissing this I'd like to see you play half this well after playing the 25.5 min Hoffmeister Concerto No.3 and the 20+ Bruch Violin concerto yes VIOLIN CONCERTO (transcribed 100% accurately by ear on the plane ride over) not to mention 2 other concert pieces. Just saying you know.

  • Shit gets real at 2:42

  • Ahhh, just great. He is a genious poking fun at the rest of the world...

    Brilliant

  • @jabba987654321 This performance isn't that good, no. It's not Miloslav's best.

But I'd take Miloslav's musicality over Patkolo's speed any day.

  • hes not that good.. watch ibramigov or patkolo.. maybe minje sung.. but sung is just good at technique he fails in musicality

  • THAT"S SO FREAKING HIGH!!!Dx

  • @FilmComposeRaHoppe Dittersdorf, 1st movement, some Vanhal as well as the Koussevitsky Concerto, and some other cadenzas I don't know.

    In any case, it's hilarious.

  • Ahh, he's played before lol Amazingly good

  • @FilmComposeRaHoppe Oh it's by J.B. Vanhal right?

  • What is the name of the composition at 07.23? It appears familiar to me in a way but I can't remember the name.

I probably will never achieve that level and skill but my dream of playing it someday won't be broken. I mean I don't need to play for the Vienna Philharmonic :D but I imagine being at a place somewhere to be for my self and then play the bass while enjoying the fresh air at the lake or in a forest :D (Or even the piano, which I've been playing for years). Let's wait and see. :D
