@anothersickman hey buddy guess what. if we didnt drop the A bomb, the estimated lives lost from hitting japan at their home land would have accumulated way more deaths. the japs live by honor, and they all would have died fighting, even civilians. the jap who lead the bombing in pearl harbor sent a letter to the pilot who dropped the A bomb saying it was a good thing he dropped the bomb and not invaded for the vary reason i just stated.

@AccordGTR wow. shut the fuck up right now. for your information, the Philippines was alerted, the man in charge there was too cocky to put everybody on alert. second, pearl harbor attack was unexpected and the last place they thought they were going to be attacked. they were caught off guard, therefore, they thought there was no need to be on alert or take any precautions. the us could have done a lot of things to prevent it, but they didnt know. thats the beauty of surprise.
