In movers and shakers, we feature Nelson Muguku, a re-known poultry farmer in the country. Muguku who is ranked among the top 3 poultry breeders in the country, ventured into the business by default after losing his job as an untrained teacher in the colonial days. Tony Sanya spent some time on his farm in kikuyu and discovered Muguku has never looked back since he stumbled on his path to fortune.

  • He should seek the next step of mechanizing his farm..keeping international standards and expanding regionally.

  • Something about the reporter's math is wrong. Layers at 80, broilers at 50 = Av 65 x 120K = 8M = $100K. Assuming he does one lot a month that is $1.2M/Yr, 2 lots/month = $2.4M. Let's just say that this guy was printing money here.

  • what he did is fire his boss and became boss----

  • this was a great man....may he rest n peace R.I.P Muguku

  • @Dartpin This is strangely funny. He's a great guy, though!

  • This is very refreshing. Guy even looks like a chicken!

  • good example 4 those who wait 4 handouts

  • who in Nairobi has never eaten eggs from his chicken farm??
