@ujjwalkumarin of course it has to be contextual in some of the verses. But being contextual does not means it's not eternal. If the same scenario happens again in modern days...the verse become applicable again.... therefore think!!!

Finally I do not really oppose the interpretation that the violence in the qur'an (widespread, the verse of the sword is just one of them) is limited to certain historical contexts (not valid today or in the future) but this has to be followed by a recognition from ulama that the qur'an is not the eternal and exact world of allah.
