Lets see how many trains made today will still be running in 50 or more years....and for that matter, even photographed!

What an awesome locomotive. Made in 1941 by Lima locomotive works, she was once the pride of the SP passenger fleet. With her 80 inch drivers, and 300 psi boiler pressure she was a brute. I am so glad she was saved from Oak park to pull the American Freedom Train in 1976, and now she wears her SP Daylight colors with pride.

It's the whistle warming up and cleaing the water out of it.
-
its just the wind and the amount of steam being let into the whislte that makes it sound different
-
Scrath that, it is a 3 chime off an NP or GN 2-8-0.

How did you get that shot at 3:01 without all that wind sound and still get the train sounds? I know it was in a car
Nice trin footage.
So many states have a city named Albany; I was wondering if this was entirely in Oregon?

Yes it was. The 4449 rarely leaves the Pacific Northwest these days.
