Well, as hemp was used widely in the time of Jesus and as its curing properties were quite well known, then I imagine he would have used hemp, though of course, there were no fungicides, FDA or big Pharma back then and so there was no cancer so I imagine he wouldnt have had to.

Its Cannabis! make a distinction please; The hemp subspecies are used for industrial purposes and produce less than 1%THC. The Genus is Cannabis, and the drug is usually known as Marijuana. Sorry if I'm splitting hairs, but I just wrote a research paper for the legalization of industrial hemp in the USA, and it relies on a distinction being made between industrial hemp and drug producing strains. If your referring to both, Cannabis would be appropriate.
