Nice axe man! like your style of playing, what finish is your axe?
-
@winnardairshows It takes 10x the wattage to get 2x volume. 50w is nearly as loud as 100w, all other things equal.
-
GeeZ! Let me know when you want to raise some more money and sell the axe.

Isn't pulling tubes bad for the amp?lol. Well I am going to the music store to try out some plexis in the next few days, maybe a jtm45 too. I'll let you know what I find. And if you are going to get another plexi, comb ebay, they are everywhere. And you can also find a ton of JMP master volume heads from the 70's on there too.

The 100 w has more headroom, meaning, they can clean up better. The 1987x has more distortion. The choice is up to the player which amp is better. I had a 1972 year, 1987x amp that was pretty freakin' good, but I really didn't know how to use it right. The 100 w is great because you can pull two tubes and make it a 50w.

Yeah it does sound good, does it sound any different from the 100w 1959sl head? I have heard that the 100w's have a thicker tone.
What was your amp set up when you recorded this? I love the tone, just wonedering if I can get that on my major? Volume about 6?

I think I was using my TubeScreamer on this one. I bet your Major is loud and clean, huh!
