Long gone is the songwriter. It's weird how kids listen to the stuff of today and it ends up on some dumb NOW compilation and is forgotten a few days later. I heard this in the 70's and it still seems like i am hearing it again for the first time. The power of timeless music and artists...to change our lives for the better...

This song, and "The wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald" always create such a melancholy mood. He was quite a song writer in his day.

For those of you not familar with Gordon's music, listen to "Talking In Your Sleep", "Did She Mention My Name", "Song For A Winter's Night", "Ribbon of Darkness", and "Second Cup of Coffee". Don't know how all that could come out of one man, but it did.

Brings back a flood of memories. Seems like all the lost loves are associated with his music. How interesting it is to remember the agony of heartbreak associated with one song, yet visualize different faces and times. Doesn't seem possible, but if you've ever had more than one deep relationship, you'll know what I mean. Doesn't matter how long ago, or if you're in a deep relationship right now, Gordon's music can transport you back in time instantly. Thank you Gordon.

We all have someone who we let go and this song will always bring them back to our thoughts. Painful to listen to, but beautiful all the same.
