  • Would a drill be necessary for Fender Instruments???

  • @ty2drew Well this is a Fender strat in the video and we drilled it. You've got to get the anchor screws deep enough or the locks won't hold. If you try doing it by hand you might crack the wood. Drilling is what EB recommends for installing their locks.

  • @ty2drew Well this is a Fender Strat and EB recommends drilling to install their strap locks.

  • You are absolutely gorgeous! Is that a slight German accent I hear?

  • @WHATyouCANTbe Nicht ist das Mädchen ungarisch.

  • is ts necessary to drill? I've bought an ibanez prestige and I don't want to drill it

  • @wayprotein You could try but you run the risk of cracking the wood. Drilling is what Ernie Ball recommends for installation so that is what we say also.

Thank you! We have a sound clip of this same Fender Strat being played through a BOSS GT-10 (see BOSS GT-10 Video).

PLUS we have our 2010 Holiday Guitar Gear Give-Away going on right now so check out the video and ENTER at the website.

  • Yes, you need to drill a small hole in order to anchor the strap lock posts. Most guitars have strap buttons so you can just replace them with the strap lock hardware. You can take it to the guitar shop & have them install them which is what I did.
