Prop. 4 was defeated with 52.6% No, and 47.4% Yes.
For the third time in four years, California voters rejected a measure that would have endangered the health and safety of pregnant teens. The defeat of Prop. 4 guarantees that California teens will have continued access to professional medical care and counseling without unnecessary and dangerous delays.
The success of the No on 4 campaign had to do with the tireless efforts of activists who spoke out at events, spearheaded activism on college campuses, and educated voters through more than 120,000 telephone conversations. This focused, grassroots determination and principled activism made all the difference.
This victory also reflects incredible support from a variety of partners - including Planned Parenthood, ACLU, teachers, labor unions, and nurses. In battling this measure three times, we have strengthened our coalition committed to reproductive justice and teen safety.
On Nov. 4, 2008, California voters made it clear that the health and safety of young women must come first, before abortion politics.
It is time to put this issue to rest.
Nice! Thanks for volunteering for the campaign - they couldn't have done it without you...

Love it! Makes me miss phone banking (seriously!). Does not make me miss asking for "the woman of the house" (also serious).

I'm giving this video 5 stars and adding it to my favorites!
The ACLU-NC mounted an excellent effort motivating activists this election and I'm glad to see some of those activists getting recognized for their great job via video. The video itself is well shot and edited. And, the "No on Prop 4" campaign was a victory well worth winning
Thanks for making and uploading this video and for all your other great work :-)
