Our War: Caught in the Crossfire

As a former U.S. Marine currently serving in the U.S. Army, I found this doc to be an eye opener.

Chronicling the exploits of the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment as captured by the Soldiers themselves, the footage shot by these men was only recently declassified by the MoD. It has since been compiled to tell their story via a BBC documentary series titled "Our War".

No it doesn't, but said experiences will indeed ensure you rapidly age. Not only physically but mentally as well. I do believe that is the gist of the guise in the documentary. Also, well done with the ad-hom "kindergarten" comment and the twist you put on it.

You do realize the Taliban used airstrikes, artillery, armor, and helo assets when they were fighting the heavily battered and logistically castrated Northern Alliance, right? In war, you utilize every asset and platform you have to combat the enemy whomever they may be. Typical uninformed nitwit.

@DurtyBuddha I'm not supporting war, but you obviously never wore a uniform and have no clue what transformation happens to teenagers when they are thrown into the chaos of military life. The military will change you forever weather you are a combat vet or not. It's hard to explain, but you can never really view civilian life the same way ever again.

@Hampshirelad91 My Platoon Commander in training was only about 18 months older than me and had already led a Scots Guards Platoon out in Afghan. He was stick thin, had typically officer like scruffy hair and spoke the Queen's English, but he would always carry the heaviest bloke in the Platoon, and always be first across the finish line. He was respected by all, even those who joined under the medias pretence of Officers. Basically, @itshowitis91-you haven't got a Scooby.

@uchio People who think British Army Officers are incompetent "toffs" are people who have never been in the Army or are REMF big timers. The platoon Commander in an Infantry platoon HAS to be the fittest and most switched on bloke there because he's who the boys look to when the shit hits the fan. Yes they are mostly well spoken and from a "proper" background, but it doesn't mean they are disliked or incompetent.
