Wilkmeijer Productions proudly presents: Tension, a story about a friendship without trust. A thriller that will make you anxious and confused.

Written and directed by Ervee van der Wilk and Dennis Meijer.

Starring: Ervee van der Wilk, Dennis Meijer and Dirk van Rijn.

Plot outline: Jack gets caught up in the middle of a fight between his two friends Phil and Chris. When Phil goes too far, Jack tries to stop him. But Jack gets a blackout and suddenly there's a distressed Phil talking to him. Chris is gone, and Phil won't say what happened, only that Jack must not go to the police. When Jack finds Chris, he tries to uncover what started the fight and what happened when he blacked out.

A word from one of the directors: I can't even remember when exactly we started on this project. It was first called LDX, which stands for Langzame Doorflipping X (it means something like: Slow Freakout X). We had some basic ideas. It had to be psychotic, it had to be exciting, we needed to do some cool effects that we hadn't done before and we needed to use our experience from Kristof Creen and Houvast to make sure that the camera work, direction and acting would be decent at the very least this time around. But the story itself was a huge problem. We had ideas like a student going nuts because of his busy schedule, and he began to see things that weren't there. We really wanted to have confusing stuff in LDX, like someone knocking on the door and when the main character opens the door, no one's there. The main character closes the door, and there's knocking again. He opens the door and there's his friend, who said he would be there that evening. But the main character still thought it was morning, so he jumped from morning to evening in one second. It sounds confusing when I'm trying to explain it, I know. But that's the point. Anyway, we had the ideas, but we didn't have the story. And then we came up with a story, in the summer we finally sat down and discussed where we should take this project. We brought up three characters, three friends, and one of them would become the victim of our original LDX thoughts. Although not nearly as psychotic as we initially wanted to go with LDX, the script that we wrote was still pretty insane. It would later become the script for Tension, with a few adjustments. Filming all the scenes was nowhere near the chaos we still remember Kristof Creen by. In fact, it came pretty close to the laid-back attitude we had during the shooting of Houvast(I translated it as Support in the English subtitled version, but it's still Houvast). There were some issues with time schedules, resulting in one of the directors not being able to be present on one particular day, for example. But in the end it all worked out, and the editing process began. Not as laid-back as the filming process, I must say. We did take our time and did not stress out, but issues with the Adobe Premier gave us a headache a few times. And sadly, these issues did have effect on the finished product. The pops and clicks you hear in the music, for example. We couldn't get rid of it and that's unfortunate, especially because of the great soundtrack, including some great music Ervee van der Wilk composed exclusively for this movie. But besides the issues with Adobe, I'm happy with the final result of all our hard work. We had fun doing it, we took a long time doing it because of our busy schedules, while it could have been done in a few weeks if we had all the time in the world for it. But we didn't, and so here we are, months after we started. I'm glad to finally show it to anyone who wants to see it(and if you don't, I'll keep poking you until you give in). You will love it, hate it, fear it, laugh at it, find it amusing or get bored by it...in any case, just watch it and see for yourself. I think we really showed what we've learned as directors, cameramen, actors and editors ever since we made our first movie Kristof Creen about a year ago. Time goes by really fast. To conclude this little speech, I would like to ask you one thing: please provide us with useful feedback. We might not be able to work on a serious project for a long time since we're students now, but our passion for filmmaking remains. And therefore I want to ask you to make us see what we can't see. I'd really like some short reviews. A few lines, that's all. And if you want to write a longer review, please do! We'd really appreciate it!

Thank you for your attention, I hope you've enjoyed/will enjoy Tension. It might be our last serious project for some time, but I'm sure more will be coming in the future!

And don't forget: the bloopers are also online. Like Kristof Creen, 20 minutes of silliness!
