I have never done the river via jet boat, only raft.. I can say this, the river is beyond awesome. If you want a true step into the wilderness, are unable to either do it via raft because of time, health or availability, this is the way to see it. Both jet boat groups have been doing this for a long time, they are safe, exciting, and you could not find a better way to spend the day.
